Dear you,
don’t you feel like we are living in wartime?
like those horrific old times
in movies and papers
in the folklore and the memories of our elder’s
fortunately,
humans aren’t fighting humans
no bullets, guns and atomic bombs
no soldiers defending their flags
swearing fake conspiracy theories
but still, it is a war
it’s humans against the humans’ error
a hospital as a battlefield
doctors and other health caregivers
fighting fiercely and furiously
against the cruel pandemic
hanging their lives on the edge
away from their own families
to save the families of others’
dear you,
like you
i’m also worried and scared
surrounded by fear and darkness
and it multiplies with the upward stats
no sign of ceasing anytime soon
and people are showing obvious panics
hoarding the essentials
from the supermarket shelves
as if, it is only them to survive tomorrow
in the greed of saving their lives, they forgot
they are pushing others towards the end
but talking about morals
might be too much in such cases
streets are deserted
squares are barren
playgrounds are silent
public spots ghostly
but it is neither the beginning of the end
nor something unprecedented
humans have overcome many cruel phases
and this should be one of them
one of them that passes quickly
but most importantly dear,
when all this is gone
besides doctors and other caregivers
we’ll learn to appreciate
appreciate the clerks in the banks
cashier in the supermarket
drivers that delivered daily goods
policeman that conducted the rules
garbagemen that collected the trash
postman that delivered the posts
the people who stayed home
reading, writing, netflixing,
texting, sexing, creating,
cooperating with the situations
playing musical instruments and singing
from their balconies
from their windowpanes
from their rooftops
from their gardens
and every other isolated part
singing the songs
coming straight from their hearts
and, i hope that
the wind of change will fucking blow again
and we’ll be back to the normal states
reunited with family members
and we’ll commit together to
take better care of each other
including the surrounding and nature
we’ll build the house in our hearts
for those who left us fighting their fights
and we’ll always remember
and vow in unison to never forget the
humans who cooperated
and the systems
that prevented the further mass destruction
all in all
they didn’t just do their jobs
in these hard times
but served humanity in large
worth of mentioning it
for a very very
lengthy period of time
Thanks
